Hope Primitive Methodist Cemetery aka Nixon's Chapel Cemetery is located on the west side of Keele Street,  between Teston Rd to the south and Kirby St. to the north in the Maple area of the City of Vaughan.  The original church on this site was built in 1840 the cemetery was established in 1839. The second church made of stone was built in 1870 and was located in the field to the north of the burying ground. The land for the original church and burying ground was donated by William & Jane Craddock in 1839 and both are buried here.  The Cemetery was closed in 1891, as burials in the area moved to the Maple Public Cemetery after it was established in 1871.  The church was officially closed in 1948. In 1963 the cemetery was restored and the headstones were gathered into a cross shaped cairn which is located at the center of the property.  The cemetery is now under the care of the City of Vaughan.
