So Where are the Haunted Places ??

If your looking for haunted cemeteries, you're in the wrong place.  This blog is about the pioneer burials and associated sites found throughout the area.  It is a testament to those who came before and settled the areas that we now live and work in.  Their last resting places in some cases have disappeared completely due to the encroachment of the ever expanding urban areas.  Those that are left deserve the same respect that would be afforded to any burial site, but this is not always the case.  Some of these sites are found next to bus stops or in parkettes, green belts or right next to busy intersections. They are used as short cuts to subdivisions, dumping of trash or worse.

Even these small burial grounds possess a perpetual history of the events that shaped our communities, you may fine the burial site of the family that your town or city is named after.  You may find the graves of veterans from historic conflicts such as the War of 1812, the Battle of Lundy's Lane and the Rebellion of 1837. You may find the graves of the refugees from America known as United Empire Loyalists.  You will definitely find the people who toiled and died, creating our future.

If there are any ghosts, it will be us.  R.I.P.
